Pastor Rob is a BA in Bible graduate of Hannibal LaGrange College, M-Div. graduate of Southwestern Bapt. Theological Seminary, and a D- Min. graduate of The Southern Bapt. Theological Seminary. He grew up along the east coast during the years his father was in the navy. In 1980, the family moved to the St. Charles, Missouri area, where he graduated high school and was called into pastoral ministry. He married Joan in 1988, and they were blessed with their son Alex in 1989. As a family, they have served churches in Virginia, Indiana, and here in Illinois. "It is a pleasure to be back in the Midwest with such godly people in a growing congregation. A favorite verse is from Psalm 9:10, 'Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you.' ”

Pastor Mike was born and raised in the St. Louis area where he attended a wonderful church with his family. Mike was saved at age seven and surrendered his life to the ministry at age fourteen. He received his Bachelor's Degree with honors from Missouri Baptist College and graduated from Souhern Bapt. Theological Seminary with his Masters in December 2008. Mike married his college sweetheart, Julie, who also graduated from Missouri Baptist College with honors. In 2005 God blessed Mike and Julie with their son, Luke and in 2010 with their daughter Lucy. "Being called by God to work with teenagers, our mission is to teach teens the importance of knowing and studying the Bible while modeling a dynamic Christian walk for them."  Mike's favorite verse is Colossians 3:17, "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him."

At age 4 Elaine attended Vacation Bible School at a rural church in Indiana where she met the pastor's wife, who taught her how to behave in God's House. This was an exciting time for her. She begged her parents to attend church each Sunday, and they did. When Elaine was 7 she asked Jesus to be her Savior at a Back Yard Bible Club while visiting relatives in a large city in Indiana. Imediately she shared Jesus with a nearby lady and her children. She wanted everyone to know about Him. As a young adult she made a decision for Jesus to be Lord of her life. "I praise God for he wonderful memories I have been blessed to have. Vacation Bible School is still dear to me; Calvary Baptist Church is important to me, as well. It is a privelege to work here and serve my church family." Elaine and her husband's three children, and grandchildren are also dear to her.

  Lynn Bruza, Organist

Lynn grew up in Illinois and Calfiornia but graduated from Johnson Bible College in Knoxville, TN with a music and Christian education degree. She married her husband, Mike, in 1976, and made their home in the San Francisco Bay, CA area. In 1989 they moved and built a home in Illinois. There, they raised & homeschooled their three sons Chad, Andrew and Philip. Chad has married to Joy and they have two sons. Philip has married Katie and they have one son. Andrew, home from military action, is beginning a civilian life. "From a child I have always had a heart for the Lord and desire to further His kingdom. Our life verse has been Psalm 34:3, ' Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together.'" Lynn and Mike now reside in St. Louis, Mo, just across the river.
